Canceling a Job Opening (i.e. Failed Recruitment) in TAM

Overview

This document lists the steps for institutions to use to cancel a job opening in Talent Acquisition Management (TAM); the process for recording a Failed Recruitment.

Process Considerations:

  • Only those with a RECRUITER security role have access to change the job opening status
  • There are two methods available to complete this process
  • Applicant dispositions will remain in their current status at the time the job opening is canceled.

Instructions

A. Method 1

  1. Navigate to Recruiting > Search Job Openings. Alternative: Recruiters can navigate to the job opening from the the Recruiting Home dashboard using Quick Links or by the My Job Openings pagelet.
  2. Use the search criteria to narrow your search for this job opening, be sure the Status field is showing "Open" job openings.
    NOTE: If you do not search for job openings in Open status, then the Cancel option will not be available in the Select Action drop down menu.
  3. Click Search.

  4. In the Search results, select the box next to the correct job opening.
  5. At the bottom of the page, click Group Actions.
  6. Select Cancel.

    Warning! 
    Only the Primary Recruiter for the Job Opening being canceled is able to change the status from the Search Results page.  If a message is received stating you are not authorized to change the Job Opening Status, then see the end of this document for the alternative method.

  7. You will be asked to verify that you want to change the status of this opening.
  8. Navigate back to Recruiting > Search Job Openings.
  9. Use the search criteria to narrow your search for this job opening. Change the Status field to "Canceled" job openings, and click Search.
  10. Select the Hyperlink to open the Job Opening page.
  11. Scroll down to the Status Reason drop down menu, select your Reason.
  12. Click Save.

B. Method 2

  1. Navigate to Recruiting > Search Job Openings. Alternative: Recruiters can navigate to the job opening from the the Recruiting Home dashboard using Quick Links or by the My Job Openings pagelet.
  2. Use the search criteria to narrow your search for the job opening to be canceled.
  3. Click on the job opening title.
  4. In the Status Code field, select  your status (i.e. 120 Canceled).
  5. In the Status Reason drop down menu, select your Reason (i.e. Failed Recruitment).
  6. Click Save.
