Setup a New Mail Profile with the Outlook Desktop Application

Instructions for setting up a new email profile with the Outlook desktop application.

Instructions

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Click File at the top menu.

  3. Click Account Settings and then click on Manage Profiles

  4. In the Mail Setup – Outlook pop-up box click Show Profiles…

  5. Click Add...

  6. Type in a profile name, this can be your name or initials. Click OK when complete.

  7. Type in your new @wisconsin.edu email address and password. Click Next to continue.

  8. Confirm the email address is correct in the sign in box and click Next.

  9. Type your @wisconsin.edu password and click Sign in. Then MFA when prompted.

  10. If you are prompted to sign in again, please do so. And click Verify. You may be required to MFA again.

  11. Click Ok to stay signed in to all your apps

  12. Click Done.

  13. Uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too. Then click Finished.

  14. Click the Drop down and select the name used to create this new mail profile.

  15. Click Apply, then Click OK.

  16. Click the X in the upper right corner to Exit Outlook and then restart Outlook.

  17. Sign in with your @wisconsin password and MFA as needed.

  18. You are done. The new @wisconsin.edu account is setup with your Outlook desktop application.
