Saving OneNote Notebooks Pre-Migration

Overview:

Steps that need to be taken to save OneNote notebooks prior to migration.

Instructions

  1. Open the OneNote application

  2. In the upper left, click File > Info

  3. This will show you the information of your current notebooks
    Check the location of the notebooks, if it shows an https:// location then it is already in SharePoint or OneDrive and is ready for migration. If your notebook shows a local location such as C:\ or D:\ then continue to step 4

  4. To the left of the notebook you'd like to move, select Settings > Share or Move

  5. Select OneDrive to move the notebook to your OneDrive account

  6. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation window. Click OK

  7. On the File > Info screen you will now see that the notebook has been moved to a OneDrive location.
